Welcome to Temperance Elementary

Nestled in the rural Lowesville community of Amherst County, Virginia, Temperance Elementary School is one of six elementary schools in the county. Since its founding in 1937 as a 1st–11th grade school, Temperance has served as a cornerstone of the community, adapting over time to meet the educational needs of each generation. Today, it operates as a K–5 school and continues to be the nucleus of a close-knit community that actively supports its students and staff.

 

TES strives to be a leader in academic excellence in the state of Virginia. Guided by its mission to help each child reach their full potential and become lifelong learners, the school fosters a nurturing, structured, and engaging environment where every student is valued and empowered to succeed.
