Nestled in the rural Lowesville community of Amherst County, Virginia, Temperance Elementary School is one of six elementary schools in the county. Since its founding in 1937 as a 1st–11th grade school, Temperance has served as a cornerstone of the community, adapting over time to meet the educational needs of each generation. Today, it operates as a K–5 school and continues to be the nucleus of a close-knit community that actively supports its students and staff.
