Recent Library News:

Reading Makes Cents

Students participated in reading five books that contain economics/finacial elements. Correlating activities included learning economic vocabulary, deciphering between needs and wants, making choices (opportunity cost), investments and profits, and learning about inventors and prototypes. Students then chose their favorite title and entry forms were mailed in. 14 students in VA will be chosen to win a Virginia 529 higher education savings account! Good luck Temperance Tigers!

Book Fair

Thank you to all who helped make our Paws for Books event a success! Sales totalled over $3,400! We know that purchasing books for your students is an excellent way to invest in their interests, enhance their reading skills, and build a wonderfiul library collection!

Lemonade Wars

Temperance Elementary School  participated in the reading of the Lemonade Wars by Jacqueline Davis. Many schools across the state of Virginia participated. This program promoted Family Literacy and Family Financial Literacy.  Every Temperance student received their own copy of the Lemonade Wars to keep! Students enjoyed the book and were able to earn fun prizes along the way. The library now has the entire collection of Lemonade books, so students can continue the journey!
